When you find yourself sitting in an Adirondack chair, you just can't help lying back and enjoying your surroundings. That was quite obviously the intention of the chair's designer, Thomas Lee.

As the story goes, Lee was on vacation in Adirondack Mountains of New York and found that one thing he was missing was the perfect chairs for outdoors.

Lee had his family test a simple wooden chair he built with eleven pieces of wood cut from a single board. They immediately fell in love with the rustic reclining chairs, which were perfect for relaxing on a leisurely afternoon.
