The Hustler

He walked into the room with his own personal cue in a shiny black case. I was using one of the pub's slightly warped sticks with a tip that had probably seen more than a thousand games.

I racked, he cracked and the game began.

Stripes and solids fell into pocket after pocket as we traded tricks back and forth. He'd pull off a ridiculous ricochet, and I'd land a jump shot in the corner.

This is what happens when two hustlers play a game of pool...it always comes down to the eight ball.

In the end, a little English on my final shot gave me the win and sent Mr. Fancy Cue Stick back to the billiard table in his basement.
