The very first softball game took place inside a boat club in Chicago on Thanksgiving Day. But it happened accidentally... After hearing the outcome of the Yale vs. Harvard football game, a Yale fan chucked a boxing glove at a Harvard fan. The Harvard supporter swung at the glove with a broomstick, and a man named George Hancock shouted "Play ball!" Everyone actually did. Hancock went on to develop the game and its rules. He's considered the inventor of softball, which was initially called Indoor Baseball. But the game eventually moved outside, and today there are close to 100,000 youth teams playing fast-pitch softball in America. Plus, there are plenty of summer leagues and NCAA athletes too. It's a sport that deserves some respect, despite it's silly beginning. Get your own Softball Personal Checks today. Free shipping is available!
