Romance on a Rainy Day

They say April showers bring May flowers, but all I was getting from that Wednesday rainstorm was wet.

I waited there at the bus stop with drips falling from the tip of my nose feeling absolutely miserable. I'd just lost one of my biggest accounts and got an earful from my boss. There goes that big promotion.

They say when it rains it pours. I felt like I was getting crushed by a tidal wave.

Then the constant pounding of raindrops on my head suddenly stopped. A curly-haired girl with a twinkle in her eye had made room for me under her umbrella.

"You might catch a cold if you don't stay dry," she said with a wink.

"That'd be just my luck," I smirked. What I didn't know was that my luck was about to change.

They say into each life some rain must fall. I guess that's okay with me.
